We used Bec as our Doula and are incredibly grateful that we did. My partner and I entered the world of "we're about to become parents" with a fair amount of fear and very little knowledge. Combined with taking some birthing classes that Bec was involved in running and her pre-birth support/info one on one sessions with us we soon became an informed, confident and excited couple that couldn't wait for labour day!! We no longer feared labour and knew this experience was ours to control rather than be told how it would go. Bec respected all of the decisions we made along our journey and provided an enormous amount of support, information and guidance along the way. She supported us to question and push back on "directions" given to us towards the later stages of our pregnancy. We found the info about how important post-birth support was invaluable and we really put this advice in place and it's made the world of difference to our relationship and the weeks following our beautiful girl's entrance into the world have been much easier after having done this. Knowing Bec was there for the birth and that we had a neutral support person was great, for me I didn't want another family member or friend as our second support person and having a Doula with the extensive knowledge Bec provided along the journey certainly changed our entire experience for the better. Her post-birth support and check-ins made us feel like we we had genuine, ongoing support as and when needed. We're so grateful for Bec's involvement in the birth of our adorable girl Jasmine.
I still think back to that conversation I got to have with you, when I was pregnant with my first, it meant so much. If I was ever having more children I would seek your services for sure. Thanks for advocating for women.
My second pregnancy was challenging from the start. Full of challenges, fears, uncertainties.... I knew I wanted Bec as my doula for this pregnancy, before I was even pregnant, but could not have forecast the amount of strength she helped me gather to make it through. Not only make it through the pregnancy, but deliver my baby how I had visualised, and was surrounded by support & strength. I cannot thank Bec enough, and certainly highly recommend her to anyone wanting an empowered birth - however that birth may look for you.
Bec Ellison played a pivotal role in my pre and post natal journey. Her support and offerings were amazing, she is a wealth of knowledge and was the sounding board I needed to navigate the decision making on how we would birth our third baby. Always encouraging and reminding me I can listen to and trust my intuition. I can only wish I had her available at my previous births. She was then there to nourish my body and soul during the early postpartum weeks, and help me truly honour that special time. I will always be grateful to have had her on the journey. Thank you Bec.
Bec is a genuine asset to any birthing woman and post partum to any family, she amazing at what she does. She can calmly navigate between loving and gentle and also firm if your confidence of what you are capable of falters briefly. Doulas in general are worth their weight in gold and Bec is worth that and more! Do yourself, your baby and your family a favour get this amazing woman on your team to increase your likelihood of a positive birthing experience and fourth trimester!
I am so grateful that Bec accompanied us along my first pregnancy, birth and early motherhood.
During each of these stages Bec was of great value to us, not only I feel this way but also my partner! Being away from family and friends, in a time where support, among others, is most needed, was not easy and Bec was always there, helping in whatever way was needed.
Not only has she a lot of experience being a mother of 3, she is totally passionate about this subject and everything what comes along with it.
Every women is different, has different expectations and needs and Bec has a great knowledge of human nature, listened and was always paying attention, and therefore was able to give us exactly the support we needed.
What I really appreciated as well was that she never spoke too much about her own opinion and left enough space for me to discover what is right for me, without any judgment.
I would definitely recommend Bec!
She helped me to take responsibility for this journey and further for my life and the life of my baby, it was so reassuring having her with us, she has a vast knowledge around pregnancy, birth and postpartum, she has been living in Darwin for over 20 years and knows what possibilities/groups/courses etc. are available locally what was helpful too, she made me feel very comfortable what was absolutely necessary as she was part of my support team during birth.
To me she has become a friend and it wouldn’t have been the same without her. I am so happy that our paths crossed and can’t thank her enough for her precious support and for always being available.
Thanks Bec, I’ll never forget. - I&J
I have always been surrounded by amazing women its a very strong theme in my life. But when I decided I was going to freebirth my daughter I realised female based care was all I wanted to surround myself with.
I was very lucky to already know Bec and when I asked her to be my birth keeper I knew it was the right choice her calm nature and natural approach to life is something to aspire to, she made me feel safe and helped me to connect to my intuition in order to feel confident and empowered in trusting my own body and baby. Having her attend my birth was like having my sister there quietly standing by ready if I needed her at any moment reminding me to check-in with myself and my baby it was exactly what I wanted. - M&S
